The Toowoomba Philatelic Club was formed on 14 September 1897, and was the second club in Queensland (following the Queensland Philatelic Society). The TPC appears to have had a short life, with no details of any meetings found after January 1898.
The Toowoomba Stamp Club (in its present form) is believed to have been formed in 1945, although a documented history can only be traced back to the late-1950s. Further research is underway, and we would be very pleased to hear from anyone who has any information of the Club’s early days.
The present name was adopted on 26 November 1977, when members voted to change the name from the then Queen City Philatelic Society.
